Adoption Policies at a Glance

Adopting from WHIN is easy.  Let us know if you're interested in one of our horses and set up an appointment to come visit.  Be sure to fill out an application and bring it with you.  One of our staff will fill you in on all the details that we have on the horse you're interested in.  If the horse is broke to ride, and looks like it may be a good match for you, we'll saddle them up and show you how it goes, then allow you to ride.

If everything goes well, we'll check to make sure there are no prior animal cruelty charges against you (we're sure there aren't, but we need to practice due diligence...we're sure you understand!), we'll ask you to fill out the adoption contract and make arrangements for the horse to go to your facility.

If for some reason you are unable to continue ownership, and we fully understand that this is the way the horse world operates, we would ask that you inform us first, giving us the opportunity to help you rehome or sell the horse.  Our main concern is always that the horse be in a good home, and we would like to do a background check on any prospective buyer should you opt to sell in the future. We are always happy to take a horse back, as well, if you're unable to care for it any longer.
