Meet Lucy!  15 years old, Lucy was part of a neglect case.  She is pretty smart and most likely had some training in her background.  She's been saddled and bridled, and has accepted a rider on her back, but has not officially been ridden by anyone here.

Lucy has been ADOPTED!

Meet Santiago, a 12 year old titled BLM mustang gelding.  Although he has decent ground manners, leading, loading and standing for the farrier, Santiago is not broke to ride.  He is currently with trainer Whitney Campbell, who is well versed in starting mustangs.  Standing at roughly 15 hands, he's a nice size and will undoubtedly make a lovely horse for someone.

Santiago's adoption fee is $300

December 2016: Santiago was moved to his new foster home.

Picked up Santiago today! What a lovely boy. Stands 15 hands or a bit more. Not sure he wanted to load into the trailer, but we gave him a few minutes to think it over and he then walked in quietly with no drama. Also stood quietly once inside.

Once he got to his foster home, he waited patiently in a strange stall until his new roommates were safely out of the turnout area, and he then got to go out and check things out. He had a nice roll in the sand before ...returning to his private paddock and getting a late lunch.

Santiago is a titled BLM mustang, 12 years old and has ground training but nothing more to the best of our knowledge

January 2016: Santiago has been ADOPTED!

Sunny is a mule standing roughly at 14.1-14.2 hands and is halter broke, but was never started under saddle. He is 14 years old.

We are currently taking applications; someone with mule experience is preferred. We will be scheduling visits and site checks soon! Let us know if you'd be interested in adopting this sweetheart.

Sunny's Adoption fee is $300.

February 2017:

Sunny was adopted by a mule rescue last month however recently we received word that the rescue we'd placed Sunny with was closing, so we ran down to pick him up.

He had no training while there, but we were lucky to get him into a barn and he's settling into a routine with his new trainer, Molly McDaniel. Molly has handled him five times now, has him lunging, allowing her access to both sides of his body (he struggles with this), and has even saddled! The difference is amazing! He is still a little shy, but really tries hard. He's going to be fabulous!

June 2017:

It is with heavy hearts that we must announce that after several months of training and evaluating Sunny's disposition and veterinary consultation, as well as consultation with several other rescue organizations, it was determined to humanely euthanize Sunny. The reasons included the past damage to Sunny's mouth causing him to have suffered an untreated broken jaw (more information is available on his story on our facebook page), along with his unpredictable behaviour including aggression towards his caretakers creating a dangerous situation that even skilled professionals were having difficulty managing, we felt we could not bring any other lives safety into question and the trauma experienced by Sunny had left to great a scar for him to overcome.
